Yes very much so. I wouldn’t change a thing. I wheel it pretty hard in the desert. So I may have gone with the Ford performance kit for high speed off-roading. But if you are just crawling or sticking to roads these can handle anything you hit while keeping your overall vehicle low enough to fit...
Apologies for the delayed response. Yes I had to remove the crash bars. I installed the 4WP big wheel crash bars that are angled to fit 35’s. I don’t think you’ll fit 34s with the factory crash bars.
Thanks! This answer was helpful.
Like I mentioned, I have a couple tie rods on order - I was wondering on the reality of being able to use the brace until then or if I needed to get off a section of trail more quickly than a tie rod swap would allow.
General wondering - Can you bolt on a BroncBuster Brace to a broken tie rod to provide enough support and connection to gingerly limp off the trail to a place more friendly to towing/repair?
I bought Buster Braces and decided not to use them after going to OffRoadeo and Moab trails given...
In case it helps those considering the 5100 route and concerns wheeling - Just ran these pretty hard for three days at Moab. 5100s at 1.5" with 35's. Ran Moab level 5/6 trails like a champ. No issues when flexing, up/down notable ledges, or running dirt trails at 30-35 mph. I did Off-Roadeo...
Thanks. Still loving it. Just got back from Moab and it ran level 5/6 trails like a champ. Very happy I went with 1.5" of lift and the 5100s. Flexed it rather aggressively, up and down notable ledges, and ran mile long dirt sections at a good speed - no issues at all to report.
6100's...
Yes, still has the factory rake. I doubt the mountain bikes will make the rear sag too much. I put over 100 pounds of gear in the rear when I offroad camp and don't notice a drop. You may find the wheel well gap a bit much for 33's.
Bilstein 5100's installed and I love the setup. Highly recommend as a low cost lift alternative. I had them set to 1.5" Front/1.4" Rear (Circlip #2). Still easy to get into without step bars (I'm 6"). RTR wheels are +30 offset and the BFG KO2s are 315/70R17. Everything looks great, a touch...
Thanks! All this has been really helpful. Was able to track down a set of these shocks and having them installed next week with the +30 offset 35s. Trying to figure out if 1 inch lift on these will be enough for moderate off-roading or if I have to go 1.5".
Thanks to great info from others on the forum, I'm going with the Bilstein 5100's on my non-SAS BD 4 door. I'm getting 315/70R17 KO2s on the +30 RTR wheels. I'm debating between having the Bilsteins set at 1 inch or 1.5 inches of lift. I know it's a small difference. But I'd like to keep it...
I’m getting these installed next week for 35’s. I off-road moderate trails all over the west. But I also live in LA. Anyone have issues with rub or anything else when moderate off-roading at the 1 inch lift setting? I’m debating between 1 and 1.5 inch to keep roof clearance low as possible while...
Awesome, thank you. It seemed this was the case from combing the boards. But wanted to be completely sure. Am I correct in assuming the 6100 series Bilsteins with the larger diameter shock (60mm I believe) will not fit with these stock springs? Websites seem to indicate they are for Sas of BL...
Good Morning,
New Bronco owner, coming from Jeep solid axle world. I couldn’t find this specific answer and wanted to verify - Can you install the height adjustable Bilstein 5100 shocks, adjusting them to lift the vehicle 1.5”, and still retain the non-Sas springs that come on the Black...
