So unfortunately I had to put it on the passenger side. The reason is that the tailgate has that part that's much thicker on the driver side and the Hele box wouldn't quite fit there. When I use this I put both seats down in the rear. I am able to keep the driver seat in the upright position...
This is what it looks like when I’ve got the fridge running while I’ve got the Jackery connected to the dedicated line. Only 42w out while it’s charging at nearly 10x that.
Running a dedicated line was a game changer for me. It's great to be able to stick with DC to DC and when you step it up to 24v the capabilities for quick recharging are amazing. Devices like Jackery, Bluetti, Goal Zero don't go out of the way to let you know but their ability to accept 24v is...
I shared some info on this post that could be useful: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/portable-power-station-diy-build-my-portable-battery-system.92428/post-2587184
Really impressive build, level of detail here and great work.
I took a slightly different approach:
I have a Jackery 1000 v2. It's fantastic for keeping my ICECO fridge running nice and cold but recharging it off the car was maddening off the traditional 12v connector these vehicles have and...
I added some more pics from a bunch of different angles with the mattress off. Some interesting discoveries:
1. It wont fit on the drivers side because of the big chunk of tailgate the insert into the trunk. There isn’t enough room on that side. As such, you can’t have this in place with one...
I’m about 225 and 5’10. The length is good for me but I see how it could be short for someone over 6ft. No issues with the weight capacity at least.
no it’s really stable actually. Impressively so. Once you get the legs where you want them there’s a lock that makes them quite rigid. A little hard to explain but I didn’t have an issues sleeping on there.
I get it, that makes sense. Admittedly I’ve been reading this forum for the last two years and found all sorts of useful info. This is the first time I felt compelled to post since I was so excited about this purchase so I did indeed create the account for this purpose one could say. But it...
I adjusted it as low as it could go. The legs adjust in half inch increments so it’s pretty configurable. I couldn’t go any lower than the center console since the top of the bed hits it. That was pretty comfortable ultimately.
How the legs are configured:
The legs closest to the trunk are...
Interesting response. I paid full price minus the 5% promo code I got. Would you like to see the receipt? I just really like it and think others would benefit from hearing about it. You seem kinda jaded.
I wanted to share my experience with the Hele Box for camping in your Bronco.
I was going back and forth about building a platform, getting a RTT or some other alternatives. I enjoy overlanding trips. Ultimately I decided against the RTT since I wanted the roof available for supplies. I love...
