How do I use these TrailRax Tent Mount Kit on my Trailrax roof rack and my Roofnest Falcon Pro?

Alright, I'm dumb. Fine. Let's get past that. Now that we've established I'm dumb, can someone smarter than me please explain in plain words how to use these tent mounts with my roof tent? A reason I am coming here is because I cannot find answers anywhere on the internet. No videos exist on YouTube demonstrating an install with these (that I could find), nor are there any forum posts, PDF instructions, etc.

My questions:

01. Do these replace 100%/all the hardware that comes with my tent?
Do I use this tent mount kit with the 4 U-shaped brackets that come with my tent, or do these replace that, and I only use these mounts instead, bolting directly to my tent mounting bars? I can see this working either way: using the hardware bolts and nuts to affix my tent to these tent brackets in question, OR using the hardware AND the U-shaped brackets that come with the tent in addition to the tent brackets in question.

02. What hardware do I use where? (consult photos of hardware attached)
This kit comes with weird hardware I haven't seen before, and isn't really intuitive. I presume these are used to mount the 4 brackets to my roof rack, as there are 16, but I cannot tell how to use them. Does the washer go in between the bolt and the brackets, or between the rack and the bracket? I figured out that the half-cylinders are called "drop-in" because they drop into the T bars of my roof rack, and have the spring action so that it pushes them upwards to catch the nut. I used the washer between the bolt head and the bracket, then screwed them into the drop-in half-cylinder, and they seem to be on correctly.

Lemme start here and see what happens with y'all. I have a big trip coming up, and I need to know how to use this kit before I attempt to lift this nearly 200lb. tent to the roof of my bronco because I'll be doing this on a sloped hill with my partner and we are not strong individuals.

Your tent mount kit came with 16 drop in T-Nuts and corresponding bolts and washers. You will use 4 of these per tent mount to bolt to your rack. Measure the distance between your tent mount rails on the bottom of the tent center to center. You will then place the tent mounts using that measurement on the rack. Place the drop in t nuts in and tighten them down with the bolts. Once you do this, you will place your tent on the mounts. Your tent should have come with roughly 8 slide plates that go into the tent rails, 8 bolts, and 8 nuts with washers. You will only use 4 of these. You will not need the clamping plates provided by your tent manufacturer. The bolts will drop down through the slide plates. Slide these in your tent rails. You will then drop the bolts through our tent mount kit. 4 total. Tighten the bolts on all the tent mounts. Make sure everything is tight and you are good to go!

Side note, with tents over 175 pounds, we recommend using our HD tent mount kits. For your application, we would recommend using the 4 pack HD Tent Mounts. If you plan on mounting an awning, we recommend using the HD Tent Mount 4 Pack in a 1.5" rise.

Either will work. The 6 pack will provide the most stable mounting solution. It will also help evenly distribute the load.

That is correct. 6 bolts per mount. I will post a photo of 2 of these installed on a demo rack in our showroom below! There is an Alu-Cab load bar installed on the ones in the photo. Disregard that as it wont apply to your application.

You will slide the carriage bolt in with 2 in the inside slot and 1 in the outside slot. You will then put the washers and nuts on.

Yes, you will use the hardware that came with your tent excluding the clamping plate. You will just bolt the tent directly to these mounts.

The nut size that was lost is a 1/4-20 nylock nut in stainless steel!

I see these risers are installed to the outer edge of the roofrack and cover 2 crossbars. So for a set of four riser, it takes up four crossbars. How is this compatible with the awning/accessory mounts?

Hi!
If you are mounting a roof top tent along with an awing you are going to want the HD Tent mounts with 1.5" Rise. Because of the Broncos roof width in correlation with most tent widths, the tent can interfere with our awning/accessory brackets. The 1.5” HD tent mounts lift the tent up just enough to clear our 90 Degree Accessory brackets. However you are not able to mount the Clam Shell style roof top tents such as Ikamper and Ikamper minis with an awning due to their operating mechanism.

If you want an awning and an RTT, we would suggest you go for a soft shell option that can sit fully within the rack when closed up (some 23Zero models), rather than a larger hardshell RTT that overhangs and limits the use of the side panels of our roof rack.

If your roof rack is occupied with a RTT and awning, the Bronco Pak Rax is the perfect place to mount essential gear like RotopaX, MaxTrax, tool mounts, or Milwaukee PACKOUTs. Keeping these items on the Pak Rax provides quick, convenient access when you are lacking space up top.
