Hey all, so I'm looking to purchase an off road SUV that's dog friendly...way back in the late 80's I owned a Bronco 2, then in the late 90s owned a full size Bronco...great for family and camping with 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs and replaced with an 97 F250 due to a trailer acquisition. I'm looking to buy my second new vehicle as a retirement reward for 42+ years of sluggin it out. I've been mainly looking at 4runners, both 5th and 6th gen due mainly to their roll-down back window and towing capabilities (5000 lbs and 6000 lbs respectively). Would like to consider another Bronco but the towing specs are somewhat limiting. I would greatly appreciate recommendations.

The Bronco is a shit vehicle for towing anything substantial.

Dogs do seem to enjoy them, but I doubt they care about the differences between a 4-Runner, Jeep, Bronco or Pinto.
