As we head into Memorial Day, I just wanted to take a moment to remember what this day is really about.

It’s not the long weekend. It’s not the sales. It’s not even about those of us who wore the uniform and came home... that day is Veterans Day.

Memorial Day is for those who never came home. For those who gave everything. For the families who carry a flag instead of a father, a mother, a son, a daughter, a brother, or a sister.

As a Navy veteran and as an American who loves this country deeply, this day always hits differently. Freedom is not free. It was paid for by men and women who gave all they had to give.

So today, take a moment to remember them. And more than that, recommit to living in a way that honors their sacrifice.

May God bless the memory of the fallen... today and always.
