I’ve been looking at the cargo shelf’s that mount flush with the height of the rear seats. I like the Hooke off-road one that mounts to the roll bar and I like the broaddict one as well. Thoughts? Experiences? Pros and cons?

For the ones that mount to the roll bar, do the upgraded 6.5” pods get in the way of the mounting bracket?

I have the Hooke shelf and have been very happy with it. Solid shelf, no rattles or squeaks. I like the height of the shelf because it makes storage underneath the shelf and above the shelf useful. Other shelves that I looked at seemed to be more be in the way than really useful. I would definitely buy this one again. Cheers!

I’m leaning towards the Hooke shelf but unsure whether the brackets on the roll bar will work with 6.5” pods. They are bigger than the stock pods. Do you have the version that mounts on the roll bar?

I have the Mountains to Metal one that can flip up and act as a divider. It's molle so my stuff stays strapped to it if i need to flip it up for either more cargo room or to keep the dog from jumping the back seats out of the cargo area.. The box looked like it fell off the delivery truck and had a small bend. Their customer service was good on helping me out with resolving the issue, especially since it was something that clearly occured during shipping and outside of their control, then they sent me a T shirt, so that was a plus. I would recommend.

Oooo I am forever stuck on trying to figure out this issue myself.

I prefer the American Adventure Lab one, largely because it offers the most amount of adjustment, allowing me to position the shelf exactly where I need it to optimize storage. Just about every other shelf is has a static height with minimum adjustment at best. And obviously it's a little lighter weight than the fully-steel shelves.

Option B would be @Mountains2Metal's stuff. The attic shelf in particular is awesome.

Option C would be XG Cargo.

All three are American companies, and I believe all three build their products in America (M2M and AAL definitely do, not sure about XG). BUT... two problems that I'm running into:
  1. Shipping costs are nuts for me in New England 💰 XG and AAL are out west. M2M is down south near the Carolinas. So it's basically worst-case for me.
  2. Each company has its own "ecosystem" of cargo products. They all work within the ecosystem, but they don't work with one another. In my ideal world I'd have the cargo shelf from AAL and the attic rack from M2M. But... no go.

@EOD98 , Plus 1 on AAL
Re question about your speakers… AAL bracket is 1/8” thick and uses the lower bolt/ screw from fords speakers. If your speakers still have a gap then it should work.

I also have the hook road shelf but will remove it soon because im having a difficult time opening my cooler while it’s in the back. no rattle or noise as mentioned. Plenty of space. And easy install. Buying a mountain2metal top shelf and eventually their mid shelf that folds up out of the way.

edit to add photo showing cooler under cargo shelf.

Ever consider the traildeck or a similar slide out? It would make it easy to access a fridge or cooler with the shelf installed.

I ended up getting the broaddict shelf because it provides a bit more clearance than some of the others and it is slightly bigger than others as well.

We talked about that one, which looks nice, but decided to go with M2M for their shelving system.

I'm considering the shelf from JCR Offroad, it's larger than the M2M shelf, the side MOLLE panels are not needed for the shelf. If you opt for the side MOLLE panels they do not protrude past the roll bars (into the storage space).

The shelf is less than $300 -shipping included. Additionally its made in Michigan, aluminum vice steel, and they offer a military discount.

I like the M2M products, awaiting an order from them right now, but comparing the limited information available the JCR Shelf may fit my needs better. But, I will be ordering the M2M upper drop down shelf (next sale) :)

Thank you for the info. I talked to someone at JCR and it looks like we will be going with their Bronco floor and fridge slide for our Yeti 65. Might add another fridge slide to have another slide out shelf. Nice folks to chat with and shipping to Washington State is very low.
