I recently acquired a new MRT Elite series GOAT exhaust for dirt cheap. I didn’t realize when I acquired it that it required cutting my OEM exhaust and installing it under the passenger area. I wasn’t interested in cutting my OEM exhaust so I bought some stainless 90 degree 2.5” pipes and a black 4” tip. Had my local exhaust shop weld on some hanger rods and the tip and I’m in business.

I ran a muffler delete for a bit while I was trial fitting this exhaust system off and on and it was extremely loud. I can’t believe how much quieter the exhaust is with this tiny little muffler. It is very tame at idle and part throttle cruising but really sings at WOT with a beautiful note.

Overall I’m super pleased with the results. I would recommend this muffler to anyone. I’ve built one of the best sounding exhausts for less than $125. The same exhaust at MRT is over $500. Next up is the same style axle back with a Borla Pro XS I just purchased. I’m interested in the difference if any in how it sounds.

Sweet setup & killer deal - good job! :D

Curious...why would you have to cut the OEM exhaust? I installed MRT & didn't cut anything...just wondering.

What is the fluid on the inside of the right rear tire?

Looks like he just got a naked muffler with no pipes welded to it.

When you buy a vehicle specific version it has inlet/outlet welded on with mounts so it will just bolt up. But you could get a naked muffler if you wanted to do something custom or use it on a different vehicle.

Looks like an axle seal leak. Had an axle fail on me and that looks the same.

Yep. He an axle seal leak. Ford fixed it a few weeks ago. I noticed when I was underneath doing the exhaust they didn’t even bother to clean up the mess it made.

The GOAT exhaust is one that is installed in the cat back pipe. The muffler mounts just below the rear passenger footwell and then you remove the factory muffler and install the supplied muffler delete tailpipe.

Keep an eye on the axle seal. Ford replaced two right axles/hubs before replacing the complete axle.

Yeah, I’ve been considering that this is an ongoing problem since I discovered the oil still slung all over the wheel and backing plate. Now that I’ve cleaned it all up, I’ll know for sure if it’s actually fixed or still leaking.

I did a tire rotation so if it still leaked I would definitely know.

Regarding leaking axle seal -- mine was dripping a bit after I had pulled it apart again. A little bit of RTV along the seal seating surface seems to have fixed it short of needing to buy a new axle shaft (Disclaimer - that may not work for long, and it may not work for everyone)

(you can get just the seal, but you'll spend about the same amount of money and have to deal with a lot of disassembly and reassembly of the axle shaft parts).

And because Ducati is a superstar - I learned there are two different P/N's for the axle shaft, one without new bolts that's retarded expensive, and one with new bolts that's somewhat reasonably priced.
