Adam,Well where are you installing the 40" Bar? If it's going on the rack will it support it? Some racks don't allow bars to be mounted.
40" S8 Driving/Combo is what I'd do.
For a rear bar, depends on your intended use. I have a rear 40" S8 bar on my truck but it's for show.
An RTL bar would make more sense, those are 30" and when combined with one of our harnesses it's ALMOST plug and play (you just have to connect the rear upfitter wire to one of the leads so you can activate the chase lights, otherwise it plugs in-line for factory break/turn/etc...)
I pulled the trigger on this from your shop - but went with the S2s for chase - thanks for the discount and harness recommendations!
A few more questions for you or others on this thread:
1. Is the harness (SKU 640094) you're sending me with the bar long enough to snake inside through the windshield (after drilling) and to the internal cabin upfitter relays? I would prefer to use the tiny one for the S2 lights i plan to mount on the rear of rack, and don't want to run it over the outside of the windsheild. I'll use the KC wire hider for the inside of the roof rack.
- If its not long enough, what gauge wire do you suggest to tap onto the harness?
2. Using the 30A upfitter, can I add both the S8 bar (16A) and two DD SSC2 Pros (4A) from that switch (bought from you a while ago)? My math tells me that 20A total should be OK on a 30A switch, but I'm a wiring newbie/moron.
Thanks again!
