Has anyone installed the Bronco flip top by EZ4x4? Or if there’s any Jeep owners that have installed this in the past what are your thoughts? Any issues or advice? I just purchased it and I’m about to install it but it looks pretty permanent even if you go with the adhesive route.

I don't know, but thought I'd pass along the fact that BuckleUpOffRoad.com sells them, and has YouTube videos on them. She says the adhesive works, but ultimately used the provided hardware and fixed them in permanently. She cautions that you should fold them back down if you have a standard garage door opening (or you could ruin your day). Let us know how it turns out.

How did the install go?

Went well! I did have to readjust the brackets in the front and side of the Bronco for the front and middle panel. I think the dealer didnt re-align them properly after replacing the rear cap because the front panels werent opening properly after the replacement. Just make sure you use the updating install instructions from the barcode provided in the box and not the youtube link i found online.

I installed the full EZ4x4 roof system last weekend. Huge fan so far. I live in NorCal so we enjoy roof off weather most of the year, but I don’t have a garage. The flip for the front two panels is a breeze, used them every day so far. It’s nice having the roof with me when I need to close up, takes 30 seconds.

Moving the middle panel takes a little more effort, but still a one person job. There is a bit of a rattle when front and middle panels are stacked on the rack. To be fair, the roof rattles a bit and it’s not quiet even when it’s on. None of us bought a Bronco for the quiet cabin.

Took about an hour to install the hinges, and maybe twice that for the back rack. I weigh 180 and did get on the roof using towels under my knees.

Was a bit worried about how the black hinges and hardware would look on the azure grey painted roof, but I think it looks great with the black fenders, wheels and SAS tires. Sorry that my photography isn’t great.

I also use the EZ 4x4 lift for taking the whole roof off and have good things to say about it as well. I have not yet removed the top with the lift when all the panels are stacked but will update this post when I do.

Thinking about the door caddy - anyone have a review to share?

Not a paid endorsement, but so far I’m loving the flip system, allows me to go top down without the commitment.

This is not much help to anyone, but I feel the need to share… lol…

Bought them for my 2 door over the winter. I’m waiting for two days in a row that will be dry and above 70 to install them. I am very much looking forward to using them in the spring and fall this year. Bought tube doors as well…

How is the rack working with the painted top? There has been some controversy since the depth of the slots on the painted top can be more shallow that the MIC top. The depth the tops in question was less than a half inch. Did yours have that depth?

I’m thinking of getting this and would probably do the bolt on install. One of my fears/ question is water leaking. Has anyone taken there to a car wash or heavy rain to speak to any water leakage from the bolt on install? I believe the inside material of the MIC is cardboard? Unsure how tight the water seal is with the bolt on and if would cause damage.

The hinge is sealed to the roof panel with the thick 3M adhesive tape and rubber washers are installed at each of the bolt penetrations. I have been in many FL rain storms and have not experienced any problems. I suppose if you wanted to go over and above you could install sealant at the perimeter of the hinges and a dab of sealant at each bolt penetration under the rubber washer.

Do you mind posting a picture of the hardware fasteners please? The site talks about them as an option install but does show picture.

I have the full system on order (rear rack is backordered however) and am thinking of installing with both the 3M adhesive and the hardware.

I’ve been enjoying them. Tape only install on a two door. Small note, the factory headliner does get dirty from being open. It is nice to be able to just open the driver side.
