I work at a Mazda dealer and I’ve read in a few places that Mazda and ford scan tool is the same. Can I use a dealer Mazda scan tool to access forscan somehow? Is there any correlation to that? Thank you.

Depends which Mazda tool you have, but most likely... yes.
For a long time Ford owned around ≈30% of Mazda, so a lot of technology, tooling, etc. was shared between the two companies. That's no longer the case, so if you are using Mazda's newest tool (think it's called a Denso?) it may not work—although I betcha it will work well enough for Forscan since they likely use the same protocols.
