I have a 2021 Big Bend 2DR V6 in Antimatter Blue. This one has the Mid package, locking rear axle, modular front bumper and tow package. I am starting to collect information on how I might do this in an “as-factory” way as possible.

To begin, I found this excellent thread by Mbuck (with thanks for his excellent work!) as a point of departure for me.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ghts-in-2025-big-bend-how-to-w-photos.126942/

I have done similar projects on recent F150’s and I understand how to use Forscan. So, with reference to MBuck’s thread, unless I find the pigtails looped up behind that modular bumper, I will need to add wires into the C203 harness as he did. I will also need to run further harnesses such as a C192 on to a 15K867 (or wires) further forward and down to the factory fog lights. While I intend to keep my base bumper, the concept seems to be the same. I was plesantly surprised to see how the Ford Accessories web site allowed me to spec out many of what seem to be the factory parts I would need.

I took a few photos of my cart and search results online as an aid to start sorting out what I may need to do this. Once I get the Bronco and do the work, I’ll snap photos of that as well to turn this into a photo DIY essay.

If using the BRapto kit then you won’t need to worry about finding or creating a harness. If not, then they show 2 different harnesses but this one tracks for cruise control. The other is for adaptive cruise control. Not sure if this harness gives me either or both of C192 and 15K867. Maybe something else is needed? I’m sure that I will need to insert wires using the Ford pins into C203 as MBuck did. I got an excellent email reply from SPV parts after I inquired about their kits. They seem to offer a harness that may work but I would need to dig further: https://www.specialtyperformancepar...y-vehicles-see-details?variant=39936875626662

Here is the headlight switch I ordered. I will have no mirror spotlights or rear fog lamp so this switch seems to be what I am after.

I found a great deal on the Ford Performance Bronco Raptor RIGID fog light kit (puts a pair of RIGID lights at each end of the modular bumper) so I am working on doing that. The kit expects you to send two leads back up to the upfitter (aux) switch leads at the firewall. I plan to have the inboard light pair switched that way, but I still want the outboard lights controlled by the button in the head light switch. After opening up the supplied harness, this will not be too hard to accomplish. I found where they spliced the power leads for both inboard, and both outboard, lights in their harness. I’ve run an extra wire up their harness and I will separate the spliced lead for the outboard lights to achieve a left outboard and right outboard light - duplicating how the factory fogs are wired. I can send those two wires over to the vicinity of C203 and make up a short harness using weatherpack 2-wire connectors that travels from the firewall area FORWARD to C203 which is over the left front wheel. I won’t need to try and replicate the C192, etc. as I will be modifying the harness that comes in the kit. I’m still waiting on a few more parts such as my headlight switch and Ford pins for C203. In the meantime, here are a few photos of my work so far.

Just 6x15mm bolts secure the modular bumper so I pulled it off to inspect things behind it.

This harness was tucked up over the driver side frame horn. My 2021 Big Bend has the mid trim, so it has rear proximity sensors on the rear plastic bumper but had none on the front (because the front sensing package was held out for the high and lux trims) In any case, my Bronco with the factory option modular bumper in place of the blow molded plastic bumper (that would have factory fogs in it) is supposed to be missing this harness entirely. I ran the part number shown and it resolves for the left fog light harness. However, In this case, only 4 wires are in it and they only serve the motor that operates the cooling louvers up front.

I got things started by running the BRaptor kit’s harness up from the front bumper to come up behind the driver’s side headlight and back to the area on the firewall where the Aux (upfitter) wires are waiting. The kit contemplates you using one Aux switch for all the lights or 2 of them to operate the inners on one switch and the outers on the other.

Just like the factory does with the Raptor and these same lights, I will let a single Aux switch (#1) operate the inboard fog lights but I wanted to have the outboard set operate through the headlight switch. That meant that needed to split out the yellow wire in the harness. To do this, I opened up the harness that came in the kit and I cut the yellow wire lead just below the splice they made for the positive feed to the inboard fog lights. I soldered in a new wire to run up inside the harness and exit towards the C203 connector. My new wire is blue and it is the hot lead for outer fog light right. Outer fog light left stays on its yellow wire and the green wire was untouched. Aux switch 1 (the yellow wire of the 6 provided at the firewall under the hood) will use it to power up both outboard fog lights.

Ignore the view above! Cut the YELLOW wire instead of the green as you see above. Oops - glad I checked everything before closing it all up.

I used my car stereo fish tape to get the harness up behind the driver’s headlight. Kit instructions say to bring the harness up behind the passenger headlight and run it back across the front just above the grille. However, there harness is far too short to then finish the run back to the firewall on the driver’s side. My way leaves you just harness to ground it (black wire w a ring terminal already on it) where they say to - on an existing g ground point on the firewall behind the brake master cylinder.

Job done.

The green wire from kit harness was soldered in for power (thick yellow wire of the 6 they provide at firewall) from Aux 1. The black ground wire from the kit harness is secured under a factory ground bolt.

While pricey, this kit looks good to me In the HD modular bumper.

I chose the rightmost ground of these three points for the kit harness. That supplies ground to all four lights (two per side).

Foglights come on with the switch but operating only with low beam headlights. Forscan allows you to make other choices…

You can see the blank inserts for pins 43 and 48 - press them out (down in this view) with your depinning tool.

This is the supply end of C203. We are adding wires to the other end, with the big white lever on it. Look carefully though and you see that it has pins 43 and 48 populated - fed by the BCM when you press the fog light button in the center of the headlight switch.

Getting the Ford repair kit wires inserted into C203.

Here you see the Ford kit wires snapped into C203 at pins 43 and 48. These are both positive leads. Then I crimped on one set of ends for the weatherpak. Exiting the other side of the weatherpak, the blue and the white wires are routed up to the kit harness and soldered in. Blue wire joins blue for the right outboard fog light. White wire joins yellow in the kit harness for the outboard left fog light. exit the kit harness a foot short of the yellow and black (ground) wires. They await my work with C203 to get them connected to the fog light button in the center of the headlight switch.

Diagram for the lights. I chose Aux 1 - which is a thick yellow wire notwithstanding their chart! - to power the inboard lights. Those are powered through the green wire exiting the kit harness so solder the thick yellow Aux 1 wire to it. C203 pin 43 had the white wire joined at the weatherpak and run up to join the kit harness, yellow wire - your left positive outboard fog light lead. Similarly, C203 pin 48 had the blue wire joined at the weatherpak and run up to join the kit harness, also blue wire - your right outboard fog light positive lead.

I found a set of the lower valances that go with these on the Bronco Raptor and I put them on today. I think these make the outside of the modular bumper look great.
