Hasn't worked in Forscan since 2022. You either need the ASS device (Auto Stop Eliminator, or ASSMASTER, not what they are calling it), or one of the advanced engine tunes (which aren't available for the 2025+ 2.3 yet, but are for the 2.7/3.0)

I will also state, as will many others no doubt - that Sport mode will disable ASS (although there is no way to have the vehicle default to sport mode) -- as will depressing the clutch or turning the steering wheel. Or push the button every time. Also the AGM battery strategy is so poor, that it won't be long before your battery isn't strong enough to allow ASS to work anyway, and disappearance of ASS is usually the first sign your battery is dying - so you can consider it a diagnostic tool as well.

(I hate those answers, but it's the truth. ProCal used to allow the setting to remain persistent, but they broke that with an update for MY23 and later)

I plan on getting the Ford Performance tune for the 2025+ when its available for us Cali folks. No sportmode with the Badlands though.

Thank you for that information. I tried disabling that feature myself with no luck. I thought it was user error being new to Forscan.

Sport mode is present on my '26 Badlands. Did they wise up for '26?

I agree with the Auto Stop Start Eliminator device. It works as the button should have all along. It is hardware and under your control and not software which can be reversed on an update.

I do not know. My brother is getting a 2026 BL with SAS as soon as the recall is done. I will find out. To be honest the sport mode with a manual is really a non starter for me. If I had the auto then it would be a different matter to me.

I added sport to my auto SAS and love it, mostly. The auto/stop is off in that mode obviously and funny enough it’s been “off” in normal mode (crossed out on the dash display) for quite some time and shows “on” by the hvac…. I’m not complaining though, thought maybe an over the air update disabled it.

Yeah I don't really use Sport with my 7MT either. It does make the accelerator a bit more responsive but ... yeah not really a game changer or anything, other than it also pushes that ASS button for you.

It does alter the shift points for the auto slightly, which does make it a bit more 'fun' to drive.

I tell you this though - Sport mode in the wife's Expedition Max (with the 3.5)...is almost a night-and-day difference. Throttle response is drastically improved, shift points are altered...Makes getting out into heavy traffic a LOT easier when you can goose the throttle and that tank scoots right along instead of lumbering.

Before the Bronco I had a Bronco Sport Badlands. I always drove in sport mode. It made the car so much more responsive. Thats one thing I do miss with the BS BL, the way that thing took off from a light.
