Feedback on RCI vs Metal Tech 4x4 Rock Sliders

This is the only reason I ordered RCI vs MT on 7-16-23, just days after taking delivery of my Bronco. The only downside is the 8 week lead time for RCI. The MT's were in stock.

This is my concern at the moment. I’m looking to replace my Zroadz pinch weld mounted sliders which, though held up to a long abuse, didn’t last when I really hit them hard on some particularly nasty trails. I ended up taking some rocker panel damage, and since the sliders got bent, my frame took some gnarly scrapes as well.

So moving to frame mounted sliders seems like the best bet.

Currently I have the IAG full armor set underneath, and I’m concerned the u-bolts of the Metal Tech sliders won’t fit with the plates installed. I really don’t want to have to modify the plates to make the Metal Tech sliders fit, so I’ve been curious if the RCI ones provide comparable performance in taking abuse.

(also, anyone have some advice about how to best deal with the scrapes to my frame to protect it from rust?)

I just wanted to follow up on what may be the best customer service that I've ever gotten on an aftermarket accessory.

After my review above, Mark, the owner of @Metal-tech 4x4 DM'd me, emailed me, and gave me his personal cell phone number. He thoroughly talked through their processes and both issues that I was having: 1. fitment and 2. thin powder coating at the seams.

First, he sent me a can of exact-match touch up paint to help address the areas where I was beginning to see surface rust.

Then, he said that they were about to fulfill a local order for a set of 2-door sliders and was going to offer free installation so that he could verify the fit. After doing that install and working with me, he determined that my set of sliders were not up to their standards and offered to build me a replacement set.

I'll report back after I get them, which should take a few weeks... but I couldn't be happier with the level of service that this family owned company is offering.

It's been a while since I've checked in but wanted to follow up again.

@Metal-tech 4x4 sent me a BRAND NEW set of sliders, free of charge, to replace the set that I had, which tilted downward in the front. I also want to point out that this came with absolutely 0 nagging on my part. Metal Tech was incredibly proactive in identifying that there was a problem, addressing that problem and making it right. They also paid for me to return the old set back to them so that I wouldn't have to figure out how to dispose of them.

Top notch customer service. I was blown away that a company was this proactive without making it a hassle for me. I will absolutely buy from Metal Tech again.
