  1. Sunrider installed, but making crinkling sound

Which sunrider, the mesh or canvas? I get them confused. I know when I installed my mesh one, I ran the rear straps around the wrong way the first time. I also made slightly thicker bushings for the crossbar to reduce rattles, though I wouldn't call it a 'plastic bottle' noise
  2. Random warnings?

It's referring to the camera in your windshield, by the rearview mirror. Clean your windshield. The camera handles collision warning, emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping, and auto-highbeans.
  3. Missing Accessories / Parts in Bronco Aftermarket?

Heated steering wheel would require swapping the entire wheel again ;) Lanekeeping does not require the BLIS radar. Ford generally bundles the two together as Co-Pilot package features, but they're only codependent on vehicles with BlueCruise. If you set all the correct parameters in Forscan...
  4. Missing Accessories / Parts in Bronco Aftermarket?

Realistically you'd just be paying an extra $500 to have someone put all the OEM Ford parts in a box with a proprietary programmer. Maybe the bonus of some premade wiring harnesses. But anything they could make a kit for, you could do yourself with Forscan and a wire crimper almost as easily...
  5. What’s wrong with my gauge cluster? Different Font Used?

My Flex was a Canadian market build. Every time the battery dies, it switches back to metric. There was even a sticker on the passenger window that translated the Objects In Mirror message to French
  6. KO3 vs KO2 Tires Comparison Look and Technical Analysis

Back in the day I ran General Grabber AT2 tires, they were like a knockoff of the KO2 for a fraction of the price. I'm glad to hear KO2 is somewhat overrated and I was better off saving my money. They wore out fast but then again, it was a 90s Dodge with the old school drag link steering...
  7. New Driver Alert Warning Rest Suggested - drink coffee icon

Oh wow, I thought they completely removed Driver Alert. I'm making a video about adding lane assist to my Flex and mention how useless Driver Alert is. I wanted to overlay a clip from ATHF with Master Shake responding don't tell me how to drive, jackass but the background is too noisy It's...
  8. Auto Start / Stop - how to permanently disable?

Which is why it will kick the engine back on if there's a heating/cooling demand. ASS doesn't work if it's over ~90°F anyway -- the system status displays "Engine On Due to Ambient Temperature" or something like that. Hot-restarting a modern engine is not nearly the same thing as your morning...
  9. Tailgate Alignment

Mine was rubbing from the factory. Took it off, reattached it, it's fine now. It honestly wasn't that bad. Did it randomly some Saturday morning after I put the mesh top on, just on a whim. It certainly looks like the Oracle light might be a factor here though
  10. My DIY Homemade Hard Top Lift Ceiling Winch System

I've been thinking about this too, but I don't have a roof rack. My biggest worry about using the roof rack mounting point is the hook popping out if I end up a little crooked on the way down, or too much force on one edge if it binds while lifting. The winch doesn't have soft-start so it can be...
  11. Canvas vs Mesh Bimini:Bikini

This one, the genuine Ford accessory Only real bother is installation/removal involves a long screw on the rear speakers. The crossbar sometimes felt a little loose, so I 3d printed a thicker bushing for the ends. Not required but if you have the ability, why not? Beyond that, absolutely...
  12. Canvas vs Mesh Bimini:Bikini

I love the mesh. You still get enough light to feel 'open' but without baking in the sun at stoplights. Supposedly it can stay on with the hardtop, but I didn't like it. I wasn't entirely sure what to do about the crossbar that uses the same bolting locations, and I didn't like how it sagged...
  13. Auto-High-Beams are Enough for “Reasonable Suspicion”

I really just get my gears ground a little with how much some people will push back against "nanny systems". Often they're the same type of people who end up in the ditch on the first snowfall because their ABS has been faulted out since 2007. Nobody is perfect. You WILL be distracted at...
  14. Storing Hardtop (locating pins)

Hell yeah. These are like the perfect use for the HF hoist. I went all out with mine -- my garage has an accessible attic, so cut a hole in the ceiling and mounted the winch above it. Made a rack with attachment points so I could keep it relatively balanced. Then took it one step further by...
  15. 2.3L ecoboost V4 vs 2.7L V6 for towing capabilities ?

Definitely held back by the suspension and vehicle dynamics. My Flex has the soft-AWD but rated for 4,500lbs thanks to that loong wheelbase and city suspension. I'd still keep in mind that Ford recommends running premium when towing, so maybe a little MPG boost would be beneficial.
