K&N cold air...
I resolved the overheating issues and the power cut. By custom making a ABS plastic cover for my K&N cold air intake. The top lid is no longer open to the engine bay. It's sealed. By doing this it kept IATs way down in traffic and under full acceleration.
I did this testing right before winter...
I would say 80-90F ambient temperature.
As for the oil temps yes during the warmer months I was reaching upwards of 235 when I was in full throttle alot.
Currently at these ambient temps of 65f I am maxing at 225 oil temps. When crusing on the highway at 70mph my oil temps hover at 205-212...
So I went ahead and created a custom piece of abs plastic to cover the open lid of the K&N cold air intake. I h Ave Brent Estes this all day today.
Todays temps were about 65f
I ran the car for about 40 minutes mixed city and highway driving at a decent speed. At this point the temps were...
Thanks for the response Nick.
I have since been doing further testing and here is where I am with it.
The weather up in Toronto has cooked down quite a bit since the first post. So I have been testing different driving scenarios. Highway, city, traffic etc...
I have tested with map 0...
Ya I agree all valid points. I just noticed it seems to start at those temps. When it does reach those temps and I run threw the gears. The JB4 gauge IATs reach 170. As I accelerate the IAT climbs from 135 to 170. And my oil temps also go up to 235-240. If I back off and cruise on the highway...
I installed the JB4 tuning box, k&N CAI and turbosmart BOV about a month ago. Everything seemed to be going well. I even had JB4 send me upgraded firmware to be able to run Map 3 on 94 octane.
When my wildtrak starts up on cold start and I let it run to operating temps. Then I go for a drive on...
I Installed the JB4 last week and has been awesome ever since. After the install I emailed burger motorsport to ask what my real limitations are on various maps. For example I am running 94 octane in Canada and was wondering if I was safe to run in map 3 or even map 4. They immediately responded...
It seems like the flowmaster flowfx axle back dual tip sounds the best. however, it also seems like it has alot of drone.
Based on the videos I have seen. I would say this seems like the running order.
1. AWE OFG dual tip catback
2. Flowmaster flowfx axle back dual tip
3. Borla axle back...
