Adam Simmons is the founder of Project Geospatial, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting growth, innovation and collaboration among academic, commercial and government partners in the geospatial industry. Formed in 2012 by Adam Simmons, Project Geospatial is ever-evolving across multiple media platforms including YouTube, iTunes and Google Play, Twitch, Twitter and LinkedIn to spread the word about industry trends, best practices and community resources. In 2020, Project Geospatial became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to further its core mission to increase geospatial education and awareness.
Simmons is an Air Force veteran with over fifteen years of experience in the geospatial intelligence and defense industries, starting as an imagery analyst and technology liaison in the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). For the past nine years Simmons has worked as a government engagement manager and technology solutions strategist for the private geospatial and defense industry, specializing in machine learning, big data, AI and user-end data design. Currently, Simmons is a strategic geospatial solutions consultant in addition to his advocacy work through Project Geospatial. Adam lives in Northern Virginia.
