It doesn't really mount to the A-pillar, more of a support/resting point. The primary front mount utilizes the accessory mouting bolts above windshield and on the ditch light mount as you mentioned.

38736 I understand the charge would have occured prior to shipping, however, the communications specifically indicated it was packed and ready to be picked up on just before Labor Day.
