I’m not much of a mechanic, but I know enough to clean heavily rusted threads with a brass brush and spray with WD-40 before trying to remove a nut. Your guy messed up.
Based on the national average for full synthetic oil change for a Bronco ( $100 at a dealer) and the average of well over 14k miles per year driven for US autos, it’s closer to $100 per year difference.
It may seem silly, but it’s common industry practice. The longer oil change intervals also...
You never considered that the marketing department, who wants a lower published cost-of-ownership amount, had a role in that 10k interval? It’s pretty naive to take the published maintenance recommendations at face value because you think “it’s what the engineers recommend”. I guarantee if any...
Sorry…but what the fuck? Months?
Re: a fix causing other problems. That sucks and I can relate. Haven’t seen my Bronco in 2 and 1/2 weeks because of that. Call Ford, tell them what happened. They’ll open a ticket/case and hopefully expedite an actual fix.

Just make sure your wife has zero interest in the one you are ordering for yourself.

Neoprene is less sticky than vinyl and leather but my back still got hot and sweaty on long drives. The Wet Okoles I had in my Tacoma smelled funny when new and like a gym bag after a time. I found myself pulling them out to wash them at least a couple times per year. For me, cloth is still king.
If you haven’t recently cleaned and lubed your roof seals, that’s a good first step to cut down on wind noise.
Panels off, gently wipe down the seals on the front pillar, panels, and front of clamshell with a damp microfiber. Avoid heavy friction. Wipe dry with a clean one. Where the seals...
