iPhone (not sure about android) Forscan Lite app can also enter Brake Service Mode. Not sure how long it's been there, but I never bothered checking back in December when I did the work.
Using the app with OBDLink MX+ OBD2 via bluetooth connection.
I've replaced two turbos, noticed the actuator arm on both bent. First turbo had 90k miles on it and the 2nd had 20k miles on it. When the 2nd one was installed I verified that it was not bent prior.
Two weeks ago on a Saturday, I had planned to take my 2022 Ford Bronco (2.3L engine, 120,000 miles) out to play in the snow with my daughter. However, work called, and I ended up driving to Vegas in the company van to keep a customer happy. I got back late around 11 p.m., dropped off the van...
Thanks for the write up, not realizing this last week until after I took off the wheel and pads and then trying to get into brake maintenance mode (which then pushed the piston further out). I went through and pulled off electric motor as a final hail mary and really was not difficult at all...
Just took a quick look and grabbed my old line and for certain the air intake and likely the wastegate actuator but still 50/50 if that is all. The line going in is the one that is easily visible from the turbo, the other end is behind air intake where it connects to the turbo outlet (you will...
This Turbo Oil Inlet line runs about $30, for what it's worth, if your going to pull it off to replace the filter cartridge, it's probably best just to replace the whole line as there will likely be build up in the line. I will likely just add this as part of a PM every 25k miles
I have had this message pop-up daily for about a year now. When I turn off the bronco it goes away. But, this past 10 days my Turbo went out and I have been just tooling around town with no boost sometimes on a slight decline I can hit 65mph. But oddly I never had the "Check Brake System"...
Swapped out the turbo this morning, and the car is running better than ever!
The shop returned the old turbo, and I wanted to inspect it to understand what went wrong.
Wastegate Inspection (Documented on Video):
The wastegate was stiff to open and close, but there was no play.
The rod...
As far as play, no, but I left the heatshield on, so I can only go by feel by the rod. But once the turbo is pulled next week, I will have a better idea of whats going on. The wastegate actuator rod is not a typical vacuum kind where there are nuts to adjust, to increase or decrease tension...
2022 Bronco Base 2.3L - 105k - Zero Turbo Boost
Scenario, heard what sound like the tires slipping on sand and next thing I know I have Zero Boost. Reset the computer, I have boost again and once again hear the same sound and then no boost and P0299 error code. Went through everything I heard...
