My '22 has almost 60k miles on the original windshield. The '72 has had the same windshield for the last 23 years - and has roughly the same windshield angle.
Maybe... try not to tailgate and & gravel trucks as much and see if that improves your windshield's longevity?

A different opinion... Mine has a factory cover, I do my 5 tire rotations every 5,000 miles, and the 2 minutes it takes to take off the cover maybe twice a year has never been an issue.
