I don't think it was the dog; if you look at the lower part of this photo there is the shadow of a giant cat ready to pounce on the other fenders.

If you are so worried about safety, get an airbag lift that runs off of the exhaust; pricy but safe and fast.

It only bumped when you were straight with the hill; If you were in 4-wheel drive when you first backed up, it would drive up, and when you turn left to drive down it wouldn't drag anything down with you.

I've done that same situation with only a two-point turn... 4 wheel drive back up the hill and drive out. I have also used front lockers only with little brakes and turned all the way around on snow.

The EPA is out of control; Congress never authorized the EPA to be so powerful, in fact, Congress is just being lazy when it comes to the EPA making laws and fines for EPA violations. Only Congress can levy taxes and fines. The EPA needs to be reined in.
