On Pulsar XT we do it along with disabling the BMS and it keeps ESS from activating.

Auto Start/Stop feature is in this device and works for 21-22 models without issue, the 23-24 models changed the way that feature works and we are still trying to implement a fix into this device to officially add that feature for 23-24 model years.

We havent seen any drawbacks to the BMS being disabled. Perhaps it could be an issue for guys with a bunch of aftermarket electronics, lighting, etc? Perk is no ESS :)
