Well, it is fixed. It took months instead of weeks (and it shouldn't have), but it is done. It turns out it was built correctly, but a defect was found in the fender at inspection and it was replaced (offline) with the wrong fender and flare before it left the factory.

Once you see it, it is obvious but it is not so easy to catch when you are walking around the vehicle with the flares on. I am sure Ford will not tell me what happened, but I think they kitted the wrong fender (just happed to be the same color).

But, to be fair, you are exactly right. They are under a lot of pressure to push parts/cars through and within minutes of a problem there will be so many managers around watching and discussing and writing reports that you want to jump under a moving car and end it all...send it instead.

I have heard it come out of production guys mouths.

See what I mean...the transition between the bumper and the flare is not good for the wider flares (SAS or HE).

Thanks to this conversation and this forum Ford just reached out to me. 🤣🤣🤣 I think all car manufacturers have some of these things happen. I was working in Toyota Georgetown this past weekend. I know 😉. What matters is how they handle it when an issue arises.

No. No. I was in the middle of putting on the KBD flares when I noticed. It had the SAS flares on the back. The one on the rear in that picture is the KBD.

Yea. I did consider that option and I do think it would look good with HE fenders/flares. I just think the KBD flares look better with the narrower DV8 SPEC SERIES bumpers. I would prefer the HE fenders/flares with the stock bumpers.

Don't be. This is my second one. The first one came in with a paint defect and Ford fixed it (well). This one has an odd fender and they will fix it. They are fun to drive!

He said a heritage of the same color must have been close in line. It happens. I will post pictures when it is all fixed. I will say I like the combo of the DV8 Spec Series bumpers and the KBD flares.

Yep. @flip said that it shows to have the correct fenders.

I get it. What you don't know is that I had already ordered the bumpers for my 22 when I learned that it was totaled. So, I put the bumpers and bench on it 2 days after I bought it. I am embarrassed to say I didn't notice the fender until I was putting on the KBD flares yesterday.😣

The fenders are different. Who cares about the flares? A repair job? It is 11 days old. It has less than 500 miles on it. 🤭
