Honestly, you're already in great shape for off road. My Bronco is a stock Heritage with the MT and I've had no problems going off road. For the very few times I had large rocks or tree stumps in the mid-path, I just altered my line enough to get by. Technique is just as good as money spent...
My order sheet listed the trailer hitch.
I asked they not install the front plate bracket. When I picked it up, they installed it anyways but claimed that they don't drill holes. After removing the bracket the next morning, I had holes.
Like you, I have zero satisfaction with my local...
I guess I could say I "lost" my wife.
She refuses to get in the Bronco when I take the doors off.
Otherwise, I keep my left foot inside the Bronco to shift gears and my hat has a strap.
So I haven't really lost anything. ...yet.
These are classic "dad jokes" that our kids simply would not understand, but all us "dads" are laughing out loud.
And yes, moving to "4 on the floor" from "3 on the tree" was so much better because I also went from a straight 6 to a V8.
On my 1969 Cougar convertible, I needed to adjust these every 2k miles, and I typically replaced them after 4k miles. Engine idle was always noticeably smoother after adjustment/replacement.
In your original post, it seemed like you described water when you first opened ("raised") the glass.
Now that I watched your Amazon link, I understand you get water when you leave the window open in the rain -- a different problem from what I first understood.
Nope.
I've had the hatch open several times.
If I remove the hatch while the Bronco is still wet from rain, I'll get a few drops from the gasket's groove -- but that's not a leak!
I set the brake on my wife's automatic every time I use her car. I do understand your concerns about wear and tear on moving parts, but I kind of expect the parking brake should be able to handle it and it should be cheaper to fix than a transmission.
Obviously, I use the parking brake 100%, but I think this is a great feature for automatics to reduce the stress on the transmission. I just wish Ford placed the parking brake release in the Bronco's center console.
