Heres hoping it keeps working for you.
For what its worth goo gone softens it a little but not much. 3m adhesive remover works a little better but still not great. Ultimately lots of plastic scraper, an eraser wheel, and elbow grease and it all came off with no damage to the powder coat. The...
Back when I had my first panels fall off I spoke to Fabian about options and he convinced me not to use options like 3M 77 or a polyclorpoline adhesive stating the Gorilla glue would work over the existing glue. I trust that Fabian believed it would work. I gave it a shot and for several months...
Left the the bronco in the sun all day but was not a hot day, and the previously reglued panels have started coming off. At least this time it didnt happen while I was driving.
This was from the first time when I applied gorilla glue per Fabians instruction. After spending a few frustrating...
My understanding was that it only effected people in the end of one batch and then they implemented a fix so new units would not have the issues.
As for Texas Chritaka I think was from down in Texas and had the same issues, so maybe they can give update on how its holding up.
This has been the singular major disappointment for us on our top. Every time we go out to the vehicle another panel seems to be coming off. What is worse is the earlier panels that we previously re-glued up starting to have problems in the heat. It seems the fiber substrate of the original...
Hey sorry been rather busy lately.
First one of the things I thought was not in the video is but for less than a second and I missed it. That is removing the Hardtop or Softop brackets in the front and sides of the roll bar.
There are still some differences I had from the install video...
It was supper appreciated as you and others taking measurements is what got me interested in doing a more in depth dive.
First I have done sound dampening tests. This involves playing frequency sweeps and pink noise inside and outside the Bronco when its stationary to see how much both the oem...
Yes SF Bay area. Bad habit even if Im posting in the California Regional forum there are other bays then SF in California even if its common use in CA.
Had a couple of issues with the foam attachment but only on the two back panels and the thin trim so far. One fell off while we were installing and of course fell face down on the street and now is packed with dirt and will be a pain to clean. Otherwise the install went really well the fit and...
It looks to just be a fairly standard aftermarket break light bar nothing fancy. Two screws at each end. and the wire goes through a hole in the back that was filled with what looks like black silicon. There is a cutout in the back roof with a plug in it that could be used to run things through...
Just upgraded my hard top to an Armadillo designs and ready to sell my Factory hardtop. In great condition with one small crack at a corner of the driver front panel that does not cause any leak or other issues. Has a set of Bullet point ball mounts added, all hardware, mounting plates and trim...
Fabian got back to me and my top did not have the new glue applied and it may have the issue. Sounds like not all tops have had the issue. He asks that if you have an issue you let them know. They are going though the process of refining the Quality control to keep it from happening going forward.
I get it. It is significantly more expensive then other tops but then again its a significantly more expensive and time consuming product to produce.
Verification and Validation of your product is tricky and Quality control is a massive undertaking to do right. That something went wrong does...
Fabian got back to me tonight (seriously I dont think that guy sleeps) and said someone did try 3M 90 and it did not work well.
They have started applying Gorilla Glue for the time being. He was not sure if my top had it applied or not but said he will check tomorrow. All tops going out now...
