Good question, I thought it was inside the engine compartment above the passenger wheel well. Not 100% though. Good luck! So far mine has been holding strong since the TC and module, but I havenāt really been able to work the 4x4 enough to get my confidence back with it.
Update: after replacing the transfer case, the powertrain/awd fault was still coming on. They brought in a field engineer from Ford who diagnosed a failing transfer case module, they replaced that and it's been working great since. Now that it is fixed, I doubt that it has been fully engaging...
All I got for an explanation was that they verified the fault, pin tested the tc and got no response, pulled the tc drain plug and noticed āchunkyā fluid draining out. Trust me that many questions have been asked, and have yet to be answered. I can send you the paperwork whenever I am back at...
Yeah, I mean they said it was an internal transfer case failure. They replaced it and supposedly test drove and verified the repair. I drove it home and parked it at work until after the storm and thatās when it happened all over again.
UPDATE: picked up the bronco last sat am after they replaced the transfer case, 4wd/powertrain fault again by Monday evening. Put it into 4h driving through snowy residential streets is apparently not enjoyable for this machine š.
Thanks everyone for the info. I just heard from the dealer thatās itās ready for pickup. The tech said he did a pin test with zero response, then pulled the drain plug and the fluid had fragments in it. Sounds like thatās as in depth as they will get with causes. Thankful for the warranty!
Mine just went in with a failed transfer case. Mine is a part time, non sas bronco. Similar usage, happened in deep snow, which is all Iāve ever engaged 4wd for. I can count how many times Iāve used 4wd on one hand and itās only got about 25k on the odometer. Did you get any more insight as to...
Hey everyone.
To start, I have a 2023 non-sas, 2.7, 4-door Outer banks. The Bronco is currently in the shop with a failed transfer case. I have been doing some searches to see if anyone else has had similar issues but didnāt come up with much. Anyone out there with a failed transfer case, and...
I would check and make sure that the retainer located at the front of the airbox intake is present. There are also a few on the top side of the grill when you open the hood that could have come out and made their way into the airbox.
