I used it last week when it was about -10 deg F. Had it plugged in about 2 hours- I think Ford says 3 hours it gets to temp and doesn't need longer than that.
The oil temp gauge said 12 deg F when I started it up.
I think the Bronco heats up kind of slowly so it helped with that timing.
To account for that, I cut the inner plastic shields behind the lights so I could reach the adjustment screws. Without that, you are correct you can not reach screws for adjustment.
I did the Diode Dynamics SSC1 flood attached to the side of the SS3.
This was ~$200 with cables for aux switch hook up.
I have never thought I needed side pointing ditch lights- but you are correct when in really dark areas, you cant even see where to turn.

It was a lot easier decision until I started looking at weight of tire. Now, like you say, it is exhausting. I refuse to add 25lbs per tire on my black diamond so may need to go SL also.
