Yes - I added a ton of it. I don't feel like I had much rattle with the stock sub, it was just the terrible sound of the actual sub bottoming out at high bass or higher volumes. Decided it was worth my time and money to do it, so I pulled the trigger on it - Sounds so much better and also...
@ziskers - agree on the significant improvement with just the 2 corners. I also added the DCX 100.3 to the rear pods. That also made a huge difference as the stock ones were challenging to hear at all. I have the 2-dr so the pods are closer to my head than a 4dr would be. I toyed with the...
@ziskers - what did you end up doing ? Happy to share info about how my system turned out. All Hertz except Kick Panel and left B&O amp. Did the Gearshade Subwoofer replacement with Kicker Key 500 and the L7T square setup -it’s very nice.
@RlsTheBracken - not sure if it matters or not, but I’ve used the -10db tones for the Key 500.1 - https://www.kicker.com/key5001-testtones. Says at the bottom “
-10dBFS: Designed only for Subwoofer applications, there will be less dynamic range but higher potential audio output levels. With...
@irishmurph01 - I believe that Gearshade still has a place that mounts the B&O amp in a dedicated location on the subwoofer box that is separate from where I have the Key 500 mounted. On the box he sold me, the B&O amp mounts on the side in front of the sub in a dedicated indentation. The Key...
This is a picture of my amp settings using the Gearshade square L7T-8 subwoofer. I do have the bass knob which is key to this setup. It’s unplugged in this picture so you can see the gain setting. I mounted the bass knob under the steering column. There is a square cutout under the column which...
@irishmurph01 - I cant imagine you will need anything more than the 1 sub . I will be interested to hear your opinion of the new 10 inch box. Alawys loved the JL's back in the younger years. I went with the Square 8 Kicker L7T. I was skeptical going into this journey. Even though it’s an...
Is there a reason you wouldn’t want to go with the gear shade option ? He makes his boxes with the option for those with the Lux package to maintain a place to mount the B&O amp. You won’t lose any cargo space and the bass is phenomenal difference over the factory sub. I have the square setup...
@Southsounder - how do you like the C165 in the Kick Panels ? I know that is a daily common swap for people - the kick panels are the only factory speakers still in my Bronco. Will possibly upgrade them in the spring, but as many have said, it seems to be the lowest "value" upgrade to the whole...
@RagnarKon - quick question for you: Is it known/confirmed that there is no "simple swap" ability to change out the Generation 1 B&O amp for the new Generation 2 amp in the 2025+ ? Its more of a curiosity for me, not necessarily something I am looking to do at the moment,
Under the steering wheel - stealth location, easy to adjust and no holes visible to anyone. Plus Ford gave us a nice little square cut out to poke the wire through :muscle:
@cmtaz - thanks for sending this along. I must have pulled some specs from a site that was not accurate. The ones you have here show these speakers are almost identical so I am sure they would both work just fine. Looks like the REF407F is a slightly newer version of the 4032.
