Thanks! The lights have definitely been useful.. we've done a few 24 hour events (24 Hours of Appalachia) and they are a must. Did have a problem with the drive lights where they seem to draw slightly more amperage than stated, or maybe something else is going on.. but had to change the 15 amp...
I often end up with 4 of those in the back ...two with recovery gear and other handy tools and such, and two with camera gear.. another expensive hobby :) So having them on their side make it easier for me to grab them. Stacking more flat on top of them while they're on their sides works well...
Sure thing, I should be able to get it later today. I had a weld shop do the work... picked up a hitch that looked like it'd work well from harbor freight, and they used a 2x2 piece of steel to weld to a couple of hard points on the trailer, then welded the hitch to that.
Biggest thing to...
Stock it's just under 1500lbs .. I haven't weighed my setup, but I believe I'm closer to 1200lbs at this point.. maybe less (lighter wheels/tires , lighter suspension/hubs .. which also required cutting out some plates, removed the surge brake, .. added a tow hitch in the back (for my bike...
My setup is using a timbren suspension with 6 lug hubs that have electric brakes (and a parking brake feature so I can still use the levers to hold it in place). I did what you're talking about and bought takeoffs from someone else with a wildtrak .. full set of 5 rims... Great deal 😁 ... Did...
Seems like a good option. Option for drawers would be nice. Hopefully this year I'll start building out my trailer (m1101). I have a roof top tent on it now, something like those drawers underneath might work well. More to consider
They're pelican cases, from their "air" series: https://www.colorcase.com/products/pelican-1535-air-oxblood-black
They aren't cheap... But they're tough and weather resistant and I trust them ... I have a lot of that size case in different colors for either luggage use, camera gear use, or...
No problem .. I definitely recommend them. Getting setup on govplanet can sometimes take jumping through a couple of hoops, but once you're setup you're good for any of their auctions. The trailers come up a lot .. in multiple configurations (empty like I had, sometimes with soft covers...
I think I did...and it worked ok... The issue with knowing for sure is that the trailer itself is pretty light (1400lbs) .. and really bouncy empty.. so on the way home there were a few times that it seemed like the brakes kicked in, but I wasn't a hundred percent sure ... I did this trip...
I actually ordered a set right after posting :) .. should get here today I think. I've got the 2 3gallon tanks on the side and yeah.. really expecting these nozzles to work better and in general be safer (for me and my clothes)
One more thing for anyone that wanted to know... I bought the trailer through GovPlanet, and picked it up in Pennsylvania. They seem to have these trailers up for sale every week or so somewhere in the country.. normally a handful of them at a time. I paid $1000 for the trailer, and about $500...
