Thanks for sharing the story, I forgot about that indent. I've had several similar events. I've changed my fob battery 3-4 times over 5 years, and when my car battery / electric system started acting wierd at 4 years last fall, I replaced the AGM Battery too. It seems like in today's cars...
Thank you. It's nice to see some experience with a new product. I also saw that Shock Surplus mentioned they were going to be starting to carry them . . . But no reports yet!
Five years ago, I was awaiting the arrival of my 2021 Outer Banks. I ordered the 6cyl 4-dr with the rear locker, 4.27 gear upgrade and the Auto 4wd Transfer case, so that one day I could do a partial Sasquatch upgrade with a gentle lift.
The most I've done is upgrade to 33 in tires, on...
I've had the Badlands takeoffs, 17x8 wheels, on my Bronco for 3+ years now. With 285/70R17 tires, they stay within the OBX fenders perfectly. Compared to the OE 18" tires on 18x7.5 wheels, the 285 tire is 1.5" wider and track a little wider as well since the 17x8 Badlands wheel is .5 inch...
What you want to be looking at is FordProtect "Premium Care". That coverage, which used to be called Ford ESP (Extended Service Plan), is ususlly (there are exceptions) only good at Ford Dealers, and is attached to your VIN, so that your coverage shows in your Ford App, and is honored...
Good question. Most people here seem to be upgrading from Hoss 2 basic Sasquatch. Those of us with basic OEM Hoss 1 Hitachi need info, Too! And I don't want a lift over 2"
UCA: Did you upgrade your Upper Control Arms, or do you plan to? For those who have added the 3.0, did you or should you? My 2021 OBX non-SAS with 85,000 miles will likely have this upgrade, can I assume the OEM UCA are worn anyway?
I haven't seen a vertical engine mount for the ARB pump before, I assume that's the 2.7? Whose bracket? The other accessory I added was the hood struts, but your air chock is exterior, making hood opening less frequent!
I'm amazed at how much more ability that rear locker provides. In 2021, I was able to add the rear locker, Auto 4wd Transfer Case and 4.27 axles to my non-SAS OBX. It's made it an incredible beach vehicle compared to my previous basic 4wd Ford's (no locker, no Auto).
I'm still running Badlands Take-offs 285/70R17 on my non-SAS OBX, and am about to upsize again. Isn't it dangerous for you to stick with +55 offset wheels with 35" tires AND a lift? It would seem that to go higher, raising the COG, you should go wider, increasing the track, which is the point of...
The nicest tire upsize without breaking the bank or needing modification is what I've had on my non-SAS OBX for 3 years: 17x8 Badlands Take-offs wheels with a 285/70R17 tire, "33's, which adds almost an inch of height. A nice road/trail tire is Nitto Nomad Grappler (i have, photo below) or...
I agree with all the advice to do your first OLF sooner than later, especially being over 6 month. I'm at 85,000 miles on the 2.7, have mostly kept to 5,000 mile intervals and all is well with my 2021 OBX.
That's a nice, interesting summary. I think they'd be better off putting the generator engine in the front, and getting rid of some or all of the frunk. Anyone who buys the range extender is not a purist, and won't mind losing the frunk. What's more, moving the engine will allow them to add...
