I also use AF1 braking system. I am not the expert here, but was told that the new EBB could wake up and apply the brakes intermittently. They tried software update, but not sure it fixes the problem. It is rare and does not occur often, but when it does, not good. Maybe more of legal issue...
2024 and older do not need fuses pulled.
2025 and 2026 need fuses pulled. The printed user manual and the PDF are old and out of date. Ford says go to corp site and read the HTML version which is the latest version with updates.

The two fuses you remove are 60 amp each that go the the Electronic Brake Boost system. At first I thought they could be 20 or 30 amp and I could install a switch. But for 60 amp fuses it is not really doable without cutting into the fuse box and voiding warranty.

Contacted Ford Corp via chat regarding the fuse pull problem. Indeed, the EBB was added in 2025, so 2024 and older do not require fuses to be pulled for flat towing. I use Air Force One for braking and the preferred place to install is on top of fuse box. So I would need to find another...

I could see doing this a 100 times a year.
I assume Ford fixed this with the software update that disables EBB in flat tow mode, but they kept the fuse removal requirement for legal protection.
Want to Flat Tow 2026 behind motorhome.
Dealer said to download user manual from Ford website.
2026 downloaded UM from Ford indicates we must pull the EBB fuses under the hood.
