Cooper’s BBQ in Llano is an institution. “Opie” of nearby Opie’s BBQ cut his teeth there. Enchanted Rock State Park between Llano and Fredericksburg. It fills up. You’ll need a reservation on the weekend. Not sure about during the week.

Arches is always crowded. I would go there on Monday or Tuesday to avoid weekend crowds. Plan on entering the park BEFORE 7 AM to avoid the need for a timed entry and to beat the crowds. Drive through the park to Devils Garden. I would do the “Full Lollipop.” It’s a great 5-6 mile hike, passing...

Elephant Hill and Chesler Park are amazing. I highly recommend the additional drive to the overlook of the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, on the way back from Chesler Park. It makes for a very long but even more rewarding day.

If you are going to rock crawl, get the Badlands. Otherwise, you’re just splitting hairs.
