Get a Sprint Booster or a Pedal Commander. They have many settings, and can take away all the throttle lag that your heart desires. 300 HP in the 2.3 is plenty capable of throwing you back in the seat, once you get rid of the throttle lag that Ford builds in to cripple performance. Edit to add...

The 2.3 with stock Ford pedal-to-throttle-lag settings might seem sluggish, but I assure you that the feeling is much better when using a Sprint Booster. I only run premium fuel so the supposed 300HP / 325 lb.ft. torque translates beautifully when not stifled by stock settings. It's very fun.

This is why I at least went for the 7MT on my 6G. I can't imagine how boring the drive would be without it.

I like the back of the seats so they are there when my Bestop is folded back, and they can also be admired from the outside with the top up, side and rear windows removed.
