Consider yourself lucky if Ford covered it. Hopefully they see the writing on the wall and a class action is coming their way if this continues.

Ford refuses to provide any data from the black box to show that the car was or was not put into flat tow mode properly.

Ford can't even produce a code to show that it was operators error when our transmissions blew after flat towing it, however they certainly had no problem not warranty it.

Please keep all on this forum advised what Ford ends up doing for you. Many of us have been given the middle finger when it comes to Ford and this neutral tow issue.

Unfortunately, Ford is going to fight you if they determine that you were towing the vehicle. According to one of the posters on this thread who spoke to my husband, Ford is aware there is an issue but they are not warrantying it and blaming it on consumer. We will never flat tow this vehicle...

So in my opinion that is definitely a flaw in the Flat Tow system that Ford has on the Bronco's. Wouldn't you agree? What causes the voltage to drop?

Did the dealership give you any reason why they wanted you to tow it on a trailer? I mean honestly for them to tell you that you need to trailer it screams "we know that there is an issue with flat towing the Bronco" don't you agree?

There needs to be a class action lawsuit. This continues to happen and Ford continues to put their heads in the sand. Its disappointing.

Agreed, this needs to be acknowledged and a class action lawsuit will most likely occur as more instances of this occur.

Be prepared to very frustrated. The dealership will point fingers to Ford and Ford will point fingers to the dealership. We had a very similar incident. We were traveling cross country and had flat towed our Bronco at least 10 times with no issue. We followed the instructions to a tee...
