I've wondered how a couple of the trucks in videos (BuckleUp) are getting theirs to launch that hard. Mine is a slushbox, even with the tune. It feels almost like a CVT trans until 2nd gear.
Some of your pictures show the brake lever on the "front" of the winch, while the pics on the site with the red Jeep show it on "top" (assuming the mounting holes are vertical). Can that endcap be clocked or adjusted to place the level where it best fits?
Also, where are these manufactured...
You can likely make a good guess, especially if you get a "before" dyno without any other power-adding mods. If, for example, you know you made 260hp at the wheels on 93 octane, Ford rates the 2.3L at 300hp on 93 octane. That would mean you're losing 40hp via the drivetrain, so call it 15% (for...
Every time I've heard someone talk about a limitation, it's been wheel hp. Can't really measure crank hp without a lot of extra steps, so whp is the next easiest way to judge it.
I had mine tuned by Panda and it's impressive. I went with the 93 octane tune for now, planning on going to an E30 tune once I get some other mods to support it. For now, I'm only running the K&N cold air intake. I'm also running 37x12.50R17s, so my numbers will likely be slightly lower than...
Gotta remember that the 10R60 is also in the Raptor (both Bronco and Ranger), along with the Explorer ST. There are plenty of guys out there running beefy builds on the stock trans, but there are also parts to make it stronger.
That is impressive! I ended up going with Panda for my remote tuning. I was sceptical during the early process, but they've stepped it up in the end-game. We're on Rev 6 of my 93 tune now (had to wait for the weather to cooperate) and it feels strong.
I'm hoping to do a comparison with stock...
Super curious to see your numbers, if you get a dyno run done.
For the fast flash, definitely fill out the support ticket through HP Tuners. They were able to get my OS added to their database and got it working after that.
To answer your questions, tuning has been available since late December via HP Tuners. Cobb is supposedly on the way, which will expand the number of companies that can/will tune these engines. The reason it took so long is that the 2.3L Broncos use a different PCM (Bosch MG1CS0040) than the 2.7...
I haven't been able to get mine to "Write Calibration". I have to use "Write Entire", but even that takes about 2 minutes total. It's significantly faster.
Dude... You are quite literally the best thing that's happened to the Bronco community since Holman-Moody-Stroppe or Parnelli Jones.
Thank you for being a badass wealth of knowledge.
That actually looks useful and pretty thorough. My complaint with the Bronco tool roll is that there's a few tools that aren't applicable, and a couple of others that I would consider critical that aren't included. Just looking at this rollup, I see an adjustable wrench and hammer (inner tie rod...
Seeing as how everyone else is being silly and I'm bored, I'll answer your questions.
Subtle things worth inspecting during pickup: If it's on the factory shipping crate, it's probably never been installed. Still worth unfolding it if possible. Check all of the little plastic pieces around...
