  1. Valentine’s Day off rodeo in Moab

I always recommend Tower Arch trail to people heading to Moab for just a couple of days. You get to see a couple of great arches in Arches National Park without having to deal with the crowds. No major or dangerous obstacles, but will challenge you a little if your new to offroading...
  2. 3- or 4-line Winching with Double Swing Side Snatch Blocks?

I used multiple snatch blocks back when I did towing and recovery, but that was usually to pull out something really heavy, like an 80k semi and trailer. I agree with others that they are handy for angled pulls. Might be needed if you're winching a 1 ton diesel out of the mud. Keep in mind...
  3. Kicker CS speaker upgrade advise

I have the same speakers as you. I installed a kicker 200.4 along with a kicker 8" powered sub and it made a huge difference. I ordered a custom wiring harness which made the install a lot easier.
  4. Any "while you are in there" things to do when installing a front bumper?

Since you're doing a winch, you'll probably want to install frame horn reinforcements. Several people on the forum have bent the frame horns while winching hard. These are the ones I used. However, the are several companies that make them with varying designs...
  5. 4WP Bronco Rear Bumper - Crazy Deal!

I bought the front bumper, rear bumper, skid plate and winch plate all through Autoplicity a couple of months ago. They all showed up within 3-5 days of ordering. The only issue was the skid plate box was ripped open. probably from shipping. There was no hardware in the box, so I didn’t...
  6. Do-overs?

Velocity Blue here! It never gets old.
  7. First 2 Door Bronco to Tackle Baja 1000 Wins, Then Loses Class 3 #301

What an adventure! Great job to all involved. Desert racing is so tough, it's a battle and such an acheivement to just get across the finish line. It's hard to describe the challenge to anyone whose never been involved in one of these races. You've got to make a thousand good decisions on...
  8. First Class 3 Bronco 6th Gen

It's been a while since I've been around SCORE or BITD so it could have changed, but I think Class three has to have the production powerplant. So a 2.3 or 2.7.
  9. Is it necessary to strengthen the windshield?

I thought the same thing! Just because you live somewhere guns are legal doesn't mean it's Mad Max everytime you jump in your Bronco. The comment reminded me of a former co-worker of mine. He had made friends with a guy from Europe and he came on vacation to Utah. While he was here my former...
  10. Powering Winch with AUX + Relay / Isolator

That's exactly where I mounted my solenoid. It's like that bracket in front of the battery was made for it.
  11. Powering Winch with AUX + Relay / Isolator

I’m sure it can, but it would take the isolator and the winch to fail. I guess if that happens, then it’s just not your day
  12. Powering Winch with AUX + Relay / Isolator

I have my winch set up this way and wired to aux switch #3. Others have given good reasons why they've done it, but I'll add another. I was with a friend in his Jeep and he was winching a truck that had rolled down into a ravine. Something internally in his winch shorted and he could not...
  13. Planning my 1st trip to Moab. Advice/suggestions ?????

Moab is great. There’s something for everyone. A couple trails I might suggest: Tower Arch - this trail is in Arches National Park. Not to difficult, but not to easy either. It will take you to Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale Arch. The best part is you probably will not see any other...
  14. Kicker Subwoofer disconnecting on road bumps

Assuming you have a remote base dial. I had a similar issue with an 8" powered sub and called Kicker. The tech told me to replace the bass dial. He said it's pretty common. Did this and solved the problem. Has worked great for the last 18 months.
