@Ford winter is back and its happening again. Car heats up, I drive for some distance with the defroster on and then I get this grinding noise every time I turn it off.
Has anyone else had this sound before? It sounds like an HVAC issue or Vacuum leak that when under load at low RPMs and accelerating it makes the suction sound then its almost like a valve or door quickly seals it shut. Ive had this 2.3L base 2 door since October 2022 and it started happening...
Nope! I brought it in today and the dealer fixed the issue. I am picking it back up soon. If I experience the issue again I will respond to this thread and will bring it back to the dealer. Let me know if you would still like my VIN.
UPDATE:
The light eventually turned off. I still brought it in. They said the computer stored the code and they were able to find it and it’s the exact issue and resolution described in this thread. Ford has a bulletin the dealership has access to and the solution was to replace the vacuum...

Screwed nut on rear seat mounts
Placed threaded spacers on tie down threaded holes. Second one in from tailgate...
Base 2dr auto with switches and roof rack.
I’m young with only a girlfriend and 2 dogs. 4 door base was a little too much money and I don’t need the space, also the hardtop would cost way more. I also street park in the city so 2 door is really good size. Couldn’t afford the SAS package but I...
Please check out Tux Matts on Amazon. Even for 2 door bronco. I have them and 100% of my carpet is covered and they have a great finish on them. Has them in my 2 door JL too and when I traded it in this was the first thing I bought.
