To be fair to the Bronco, recalls fix stuff so it works properly. No recall can fix many of the issues with the Grenadier - those would need a near to ground up re-design.
For cargo space, the Grenadier (and 6gen 4Runner) has way more room behind the second row seats. Pretty much because the Bronco is a 'convertible' and so the roll over bars get in the way.
That changes for the 4Runner (and 'new' LandCruiser 250) if you get their hybrid versions. The battery...

So a month ago they came up with the ability to reset service settings. $500 for a 2 year subscription, only runs on a Windows computer.
Whereas in my Bronco I just go to settings, maintenance, reset oil life. 10 seconds tops and it's free.
