When I was looking for mine in late 2024, I started looking at the used market. Then I compared the prices to a new one from the dealer, and spent about the same amount of money.
The 2.3 has plenty of power. It's the narrow powerband and the location of that powerband that I'm not as fond of as I could be. Between 2500 and 3500 RPM it feels fine. What I WANT is an old school 302 or equivalent. Ford's never going to give me what I want.
OP: you have three options. 1, as pointed out above, complete removal. There are two positions for folding down, one of which involves removing the seat cushion. I happen to presently have my driver's rear side cushion removed, and the passenger side installed and just folded forward. I...
The 2.3 is adequate. I'm not super fond of the range where the 2.3 makes power. Manual transmissions are more fun than autos though, so the V6 isn't an option. There's not a world where I'd accept more power to give up my manual. I'd want more than mere power to accept a slushbox.
I haven't dumped my BB grille yet, but it will go eventually. That's a fashion accessory and I'd rather spend my money on other stuff. I did dump the ugly big bend wheels for badlands takeoffs.
Loved the video; reminds me of home. I used to hunt with my Dad some down in the St Helens area near Lost Lake, and sometimes over on the east side near Rimrock Lake. Gassing up in Packwood was a tradition.
Debt. It felt like debt. I paid off my Mustang in 2013 and hadn't had a car payment in over 10 years. I don't regret it, but I'll be happy when it's paid off.
Not sure about that. Plenty of people seem to be interested in going to 37s for looks. I'd bet hard cash that a tire package with 37s would sell more than the V8s people beg for.
Crash Bars is probably enough. If not, a little bit of lift from what I have seen recommended. There's plenty of videos of folks pulling crashbars and putting SAS takeoffs on their trucks with no obvious problems.
Are you prepared for the consequences though OP? If you have an auto, you're...
