It installs in the openings where the tow hooks are, but the plastic skid stays in place. There are some thin covers that go around the hooks that are removed to make room for the bracket. If you are just looking for a way to mount lights you can do something like this. Rough Country bar and 6” KCs. Nothing gets cut off.

Same here 21 Big Bend Sandstone dash, this was one of the reasons I chose the trim.

I have a 2021 and only have 22,000 miles...They are all adventure miles though...

With much trial and error I was able to get the wire from the accessory ready area to behind the glove box. Everything turned out pretty nice. I drilled a hole in the plastic piece that can be removed and added a grommet. So no wires show. Here are some pics if anyone is interested.
