  1. Using factory pre-run wires for always-hot accessory power (bypassing upfitter switches)?

That's a shame, on Wranglers you can change the AUX switches to be always hot in the configuration. As for moving the fuse, that is also a MOPAR thing - if I recall, you can move a fuse to make the rear 12V power port always on or on with accessory. And I think that isn't limited to Wranglers ;)
  2. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

Good call out, I forgot about that. It's been the policy since at least 2007 when they wouldn't rent a trailer to my with my soft top JKUX. They said back then that the company was afraid that if you flipped on your side the trailer could swing around and injure the occupants. Not really sure...
  3. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

And I found a pic on my phone of the U-Haul utility trailer hooked up to the bronco, and I didn't remove the spare. Sasquatch tire, and I used a bar similar to above, no crazy drop.
  4. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

I towed the 6X12 a few times with my JLUR with no issues at all. I know I towed a utility trailer with the Bronco with no issues. I also towed a small camper that was probably right up around 3500 lbs about 90 minutes, but on a 70mph highway with no issues, the Bronco towed it just fine. You'll...
  5. Tube door Options

I got the Ford Tube Doors, but only because when I ordered it was still illegal to remove your doors in PA. But the law technically said that you had to run what came from the factory (so an old 80s CJ where the doors were optional was OK), and my thinking was that if they came with the vehicle...
  6. Went with the polished look for wheels.

Also the original explorer, my dad had one exactly like this when they first came out:
  7. How to disable the speed limitations for the side mirror lights?

I'll have to revisit this, these lights make great deer spotters, don't want to run them all the time but would be nice to switch them on without regard to speed. At least Ford gives us 5mph, RAM's shut off at any speed :(
  8. Got Rain w/o top, front cam went out and is back?!?!

As the title says, last night my bronco got rained on pretty well with no top or doors. Everything was fine, but when I got home and went to back into the garage, I saw the front cam wasn't working on the surround, and then tried the front cam and confirmed it was blank. This morning same...
  9. Went with the polished look for wheels.

While I like them and they remind me of the 80s and 90s, I'm not in love and I think I know why - it doesn't look right without chrome bumpers and other accents. In the same sense, I don't think black wheels would look right on an 80s blazer or bronco with chrome bumpers and mirrors. Just my...
  10. How to disable Speed Limit Sign on dashboard?

Has anyone definitively been able to turn this off? I'm going to make a change with Forscan soon and would love to get rid of this for good - around me it is wrong 90% of the time, and for anyone that thinks it uses cameras - it doesn't. I once counted 13 speed limit signs that I passed that...
  11. Do I need to remove skid plate to change the oil?

Also be prepared with a flathead screwdriver or something to pry down the front skid plate when putting it back on, it slides between the front skid plate and the cross member.
  12. 2029 GMC Jimmy coming with V8, BOF, removal roof, retro styling to take on Bronco

I'll believe it when I see 1 on the lot. If it has 10,000lb towing or more, I'd be in, but I doubt it on the Canyon platform. Put it on the SIerra 2500 platform and I'm in. But I still am very skeptical it will happen at all.
  13. Roof Marker Lights and Light Bar placement

I love marker lights and have been meaning to do the same with my Bronco for years, but haven't gotten around to it. I wouldn't go solar, and no need for AUX switches, for marker lamps just tap into the parking lights. If you're running some watts, use a relay ;) I have the Zroads light bar...
  14. Tried a USB CD drive, doesn't work ;)

Link to CD player? And, while I knew it wouldn't work, I just thought I'd try since I now have a CD drive ;) Also, while I usually listen to Pandora in the RAM and Bronco, I'm keeping my Trans Am period correct and it has a CD player. And there is something really refreshing about loading a...
