In case anyone is curious. I've gone through a few S&B. Quality seems great. They are out of stock currently so decide to try Mishimoto Powerstack dry/washable drop-in for the time being.
Obvious differences between the two (S&B dirty versus Mishimoto new):
1. Mishimoto has significantly less...
Well...45k and just got hit by a large rock centered on windshield. Plies delaminated. Attempted repair but two fingers are growing sideways. Repaired and cracked it more. Repaired a 3rd time and will see how long it lasts. New windshield may finally be on my list...
I already have mine pushed back as far as it will go (did that while chasing down noises and resolving why one rail wasn't locking). Was still rubbing.
2022 2.7 with procal. Just got the same PCM update failed yesterday. Sounds like it doesn't matter? Really don't want to update my procal as I haven't touched it since install.
I doubt they care. Their answer will be:
1. You shouldn't have bought the Traildeck when it was on sale. :D
2. You should replace your heavy 35/37" spare with the 31" we designed this for. Then your heavy spare won't bend your tailgate into the Traildeck.
3. Just wait for our 3rd gen version...
Update to this. I turned out I simply over torqued the bolts and they were causing just enough twist in the rail that the left side was not locking. I removed, added loctite to bolts and snuggly torqued without going ***shit. Locks great now.
The kit comes with 3M rubber strips that are intended to be placed behind the main slides to remove the rattle from rail clearances when closed. They work well.
I live in the PNW and elected for ceramic. It is more durable and definitely helps with the summer sun. I added 18% to fronts and 50% to all rears. Considering doing 80% on windshield, but already gambling on my 2022 windshield lasting :).
I have some questions for others with the Traildeck. I've noticed that:
1. Only the right rail locks when in the closed position. Is this normal? Or I have a faulty/partial lock. Both lock when opened.
2. I can pull the handle and unlatch the main slides without depressing the levers. Is this...
