Can you please explain how these plastics were added by me? I'm including pictures showing close ups where the ABS housing broke and how these line back up where they cracked (from the main housing)
Also including a picture before I removed the light bar. I sent these to Terry in the DMs and...
That's not a gasket....that's pieces of the ABS housing that broke off. That's the pieces that came off from under the nuts.
I included those pictures so Oracle can see that the housing broke off from where the nuts tighten down the bracket.
To debunk that the gasket, foam, insulation (whatever Oracle wants to call it) is too thick. The 5-10 mm thick one you mentioned. Here's photos measured with a digital caliper, which I bought just to debunk this theory.
Here's the photos
0.82 mm at the outside where the bracket didn't compress...
Took me a while, but found pics of the studs when I removed the light bar to install the V2.
Also, adding the pictures from my Detailed when he removed the PPF to install a new section that the lightbar damaged.
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend you installing it. I installed mine around late June 2024. Bronco wasn't driven from April to just a few weeks ago. It definitely didn't last a year on the road.
The studs started to strip from the V1 not the V2. After adding the gaskets, the light bar was actually much sturdier than without. There was still a huge gap causing it to shake with the wind.
The dent and paint chip from the A pillar is caused by me too, correct? That dent cost me $150 to...
Pretty much, that's exactly how it is. I was waiting on their response since they DM'd right away. I wanted to see they're response, but I already knew they weren't going to assume any responsibility and claim it was user error. I should have just stuck to reputable light bar manufacturers.
Which bend in the metal bracket?
Editing since I don't see any bend in the metal bracket? The pictures were taken at different angles. The plastic housing broke off at different points, some lower than others and that is probably distorting the view of the metal bracket.
All the additional...
Reviving an old thread on the lightbar with an update.
Unfortunately, the V2 housing has broke in the exact same spot as the V1—at the plastic housing around the nut and stud.
I had high hopes the updated version would be more durable. When I installed the new housing, I even added some...
Hey Zach, I was checking the plans yesterday night and I was going to purchase it today, but it looks like the prices have gone up. Was there a time cutoff to get in on this deal?
Any update on the revised housings? Last update was back in September.
Overall disappointed in Oracle and the windshield light bar. It's been a year since I have had the housing crack.
I also went to get my PPF repaired and my detailer noticed that the Oracle housing dented and scratched my...
