I had one on my ‘23 Badlands and found it very effective. I have a lake property 1.5 hours away and the amount of bugs and pebbles I encounter hitting in my line of sight diminished significantly with the Aeroskins II. So much so I almost had one installed at Granger for the long back country...
I can tell you that the hoods and tailgates were all painted white at Ford before going to Penske. Penske painted the orange sides and flat black tailgate over that white. I can also say that the flat black paint seems very thin, as shown in the pic just above.
Can you post some pics of the tailgate wrap? It would be interesting to see. Unless Penske had a newbie on the job, I can’t see why they would arbitrarily change protocol and wrap a tailgate in the middle of the run.
My tailgate is painted black. The hood is a wrap.
I wish they would’ve painted the hood and wrapped the white tailgate black. It would’ve been easier and cheaper to “correct” things.
Ford does the flares and corners separately. That paint formula is different from what Penske sprays and has a flex agent necessary for these plastic parts.
