How is the paint holding up on the textured finish? I am thinking of getting a Base/Black Diamond grille and sanding smooth the border area but leaving the textured interior and painting it in two tone. How the paint holds up on the textured areas is my concern. Thanks
I have the OBX as well and agree on the preference for the Base Black Diamond grill. I am assuming that you had to sand off the texture of the grill to get it smooth enough for paint and then use and adhesion promoter on the plastic. Correct?
Nice job on the grill. I did the same but with the Badlands grill and it does not look as good. Is this a Base grill and how did you accommodate the camera?
I wish Nokian made this tire in something other than and E or F load rating in the 315 or 35. I would try it.

Look at them side-by-side. The rear window is not the same shape so I don’t think they would work. Ford’s has a curve to it that matches the tailgate while TOR’s is flat and ties into a lower frame that matches the curvature of the tailgate
Thanks. I am looking at polishing since I suspect the stripped surface may be inconsistent at best. I’m sure Ford’s wheel provider did the minimal surface prep for paint.
Has anyone stripped, polished and clear-coated either of these wheels? I have both sets and considering it. In my reading I understand they may need to be chemically etched before clear-coating.
