Record the process every time you do it, which is a minor pain in the ass. For us, it wasn't worth risking losing the vehicle again, as we full time RV and it's our only transportation other than the semi that we tow with. Rental cars are expensive, and Ford sucks at covering a vehicle while...
Not sure if that would work out, but I know it's a pain in the ass to get to it and unplug it. I flat tow way to often to be rolling around on the ground to unplug the motor after spending $65k on a vehicle advertised as flat towable. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a flat towable vehicle.
After my transmission and transfer case grenaded, I went back to a Wrangler, as we're full time RV'ers and flat tow is a requirement.....Pensacola, FL to Key West....Michigan....Arizona....Utah....zero issues. The peace of mind knowing the Jeep is gonna flat tow with no issues overcomes the fun...
Make them prove it was you....my dealer gave me the impression they weren't able to tell. Also, any chance the parking brake was on? It's electrically actuated, so who knows.
Well, I have a vested interest in seeing if Ford ever does anything about this issue, as well as offering my own experience to those that continue to have problems, then be told they screwed it up by someone that likely has never flat towed a Bronco before.
I'm now on my third Jeep for flat...
No, it doesn't. I have my own thread on this, and so many people on here are certain there was a mistake made by the owners...I did the procedure absolutely correct, had the wife verify tires were rolling at each and every stop. Arrived and the stupid thing was stuck in neutral tow.
Dealer...
Lot's of regrets. But not Wildtrack vs Badlands. My Wildtrack self destructed while being towed behind my RV. Took a long time to fix it, and the dealer didn't cover much of the rental car expense. I'm back in a Wrangler after losing a bunch of money getting rid of the Bronco. Ford has an...
I about cried when I realized what had happened to the Bronco, and then dealing with the repair and the length of time to get it back was horrible. After that, the little time that I kept it, I was waiting for something else to break, and I just kinda hated it. Hope you continue to have good luck.
I agree with this so much that I took a big loss trading my 3 month old Bronco on a 2024 JLU Rubicon. Two years of towing two other Rubicons, never an issue.
A rear view camera is a great way to keep track of the toad, I wouldn't want to tow it without it. I can see my tow bar and the front...
Yep. The automatics need some fail safe for coming out of neutral tow that only a human can do. Having it all computer controlled is not good. Even the brake has an electric brake booster on the 2.7.
Yeah, we always check that tires are spinning. Even do that after just about every stop, and they were all day the day that it broke. With the manual, you have to push the clutch to get it out of neutral tow, correct? That may be a huge difference - the computer can't push the clutch.
Yeah, the engine is not a racehorse by any means. But with the 8 speed transmission, it's bearable all the way to 80-85 mph. One of my requirements is flat towing with no self destruct option, and my Bronco didn't make it. To have it happen again would really be devastating, as I'm sure a second...
