I just got my defective mirrors in the mail today. Though I received a full refund, I thought I would compare them to my OEM's. before throwing them away.
There doesn't seem to be much difference between the WolfBox mirror and my "objects are closer than they appear" OEM passenger side view...
By the way, what is there to stop someone with a bad MIC top who's warranty has run out from swapping MIC tops with a friend who still has a good one and warranty and putting in a claim for a new one? Any serial numbers or stickers that would prevent this? Ford Lawyers must have predicted this.
Maybe this is Fords solution to handle the MIC top problem post warranty period. You get a top only after dangerous catastrophic failure. As time goes by and more of these develop Ford will add model years covered. Small cracks and honeycombed will be written off as age related wear.
I have bought 2 wolfbox mirror cameras ( which I love ), earned 900 "points", went to order these mirrors and found that my profile and points have magically disappeared. Alas, ordered the mirrors just the same.
If the clutch was built wrong or there was a foreign object inside, one would think that you would hear, feel or smell something odd before it failed like that.
