Boise Bronco Club

Idaho Bronco meets, trail rides, stewardship projects promoting proper trail and land use.
Boise Broncos, a local off-road club just posted this about a request from Idaho Fish & Game to assist with cleaning up a local Wildlife Management Area. I'm passing it along in case some people want to get out, keep Idaho clean and keep trails open for use.

Idaho Fish & Game has reached out to our club requesting assistance with some cleaning of their Wildlife Management Area (WMA) near the south fork of the Boise River (Between Anderson Ranch and Arrowrock reservoirs). While this is not directly related to any trails that we actively traverse, this is helpful in our negotiations with land they directly control through the Idaho Recreation Council (IRC & BRC) for expanding trails. Goodwill gestures go a long way in our mission of land-use and its associated access. This effort should not take more than 3+ hours with enough volunteers picking up scrap metal and man-made debris. We will load the debris into some utility trailers that may be towed with Jeeps or pick-ups to ferry up to the parking lot for transferring to the dumpster. Rinse and repeat.

The weather should be cool in the morning; long pants, long sleeve shirts and sturdy shoes are advised as we will be searching and working through the sage brush. Volunteers should plan for drinks, snacks and lunch. The planned time is to meet up at the dropped pin parking lot at 8:30. Most people will be ferried down to the cleanup via Jeep or UTV. We should be completed by noon-ish or earlier.

Special tools: Gloves, wire cutters for barbed wire. Please reach out to me directly, email or cell below) if you have a utility trailer, a truck that you wouldn’t mind throwing scrap metal in the bed or a flatbed trailer. We may try to get the abandoned Plymouth sedan out if we are lucky, it doesn’t have wheels. 4WD not necessary as a stock F150 made it down to the site.

Directions from the Boise Stage Stop at I-84 exit 71 Mayfield / Orchard.
Turn left towards Mayfield and head east on S Orchard Road.
Follow the main road around and take a left on Baseline Road.
Follow Baseline Road and take a left on Dittio Creek Road / Bowns Creek Road.
Stay left at the metal barn towards the dropped pin parking lot.

Regular cars are able to reach the parking lot however, the last ~few miles are on a well maintained dirt road.
