Has anyone tried putting a different exhaust on their bronco? I have the 2.7 V6 twin turbo and been wondering if borla or corsla and have they noticed any mpg change

I have the @Fast Intentions Inc. & have been very happy. Mileage, couldn't really tell you, but it lowers temps and creates more torque & hp without obnoxious exhaust notes.

Probably the best way is to monitor boost or engine vacuum on a certain stretch of freeway at a constant speed. Take several readings before changing. Then compare after you install the new exhaust.

I don't know if the Bronco gauge will read vacuum or not. Most accurate would be to install a temporary analog boost/vacuum gauge. Tee off one of the lines connecting to the intake manifold. The lower the boost or higher the vacuum the more efficient the engine.

I gained around 4 inches of vacuum when I changed the muffler on my WRX. I went from zero to 4 inches of vacuum at a constant 70 mph. The company selling the muffler claimed 7 hp.

If the new exhaust is working for you, your Bronco may even feel a bit more responsive. But the change is subtle.

Or you can spend the money and pay someone who has a chassis dyno. But make sure you use the same dyno each time.

I have the 2.7 and went with the Borla S-Type exhaust. Did it for looks, sound, and higher clearance. If I got any more MPG it’s nominal. I am getting a bit better gas mileage though with my Pedal Commander.

@Brandon113 I think it sounds great, but I’m not an exhaust expert. The ATAK will definitely be too loud and the Touring I was afraid wouldn’t be enough. The S-Type seems right to me. It’s very loud on initial startup while the engine revs until warm, then has a nice low rumble at idle. When you step on it, it’s noticeable from inside the cab and you hear it but not annoying by any means.
