Clean Install of GMRS Radio
This past week I installed a Midland 275 Micromobile GMRS radio inside the Bronco.

I wanted it as clean as possible and watched YouTube after YouTube on how to make this work. I don't care for clutter personally. I like as minimal as possible while maximizing functionality which is why I chose to go this route and drill a hole in my dashboard (ahh!).
I used a flush mount cable to mount on the panel that led to the GMRS radio above the glove compartment Link for Flush Mount Cable Here.
Mountains2Metal has a bracket that works perfectly for this installation and screws into two metal brackets inside of the glove compartment above the actual glovebox (no drilling required to install this).

It was pretty easy and there are a lot of videos out there to help you out (better that they explain than myself). It required a little wiring from the radio to the white wire in the glovebox and then the white wire to my aux switch from under the hood. Works like a champ!!
I've been wanting a radio in the Bronco since before I got it and now we are hooked up and clean as I can be too. I am no electrician, but I did it without worry. The most intimidating part is the drilling of the panel because you do not want to oversize the opening. I suggest chain drilling an area smaller than the perimeter of the cable mount and using a file to adjust until the mount clicks into the plastic and sits flush. Hiding the wiring was tricky for the 3dB antenna, but I was able to run it from the A-pillar outside and through the door and trim without it being visible even with the door open.
Just thought I'd share in case anyone else may want to have their radios hidden!!
